3 minutes. One idea. One international stage.

Falling Walls Lab

Are you working on an idea or research that can make a difference? Then give your research the visibility it deserves.

On April 29, 2026, the Falling Walls Lab Rhineland-Palatinate will take place for the first time at 42kaiserslautern. This is your opportunity to present your scientific breakthrough in just 3 minutes in front of a high-level jury and an interdisciplinary audience.

The Falling Walls Lab is part of the global network of the Falling Walls Foundation. The Lab in Kaiserslautern serves as the regional preliminary round for Rhineland-Palatinate – and could be your starting point for the international stage.

Why you should apply

  • Make your research visible beyond your academic community
  • Present your work to a high-level jury from academia, industry, and the innovation ecosystem
  • Receive valuable feedback on the relevance, clarity, and impact of your idea
  • Strengthen your science communication and impact skills – a clear advantage for funding, career development, and transfer

And if you win, your journey continues in Berlin

You will represent Rhineland-Palatinate at the global Falling Walls Lab Finale and become part of the Falling Walls Science Summit (6th–9th November) – one of the world’s leading gatherings for science and innovation.
