Information for first semester students
Dear (future) freshmen,
The application period for the summer semester 2025 ends on March 15, 2025. As the degree programs are admission-free, a place is guaranteed if the general requirements (such as Abitur, admission of professionally qualified persons) are met. Many have already received their admission or will receive it in the next few days or weeks. Please be patient if necessary.
You will receive the latest information here. Don't worry, you won't miss anything.
The first contact in the summer semester will be the preliminary math course. This serves to align your previous school knowledge and, in particular, to provide you with the mathematical tools that are required in the economics courses.
Participation in the preliminary course is voluntary and not a prerequisite for starting the course; however, we recommend participation (especially if you have had difficulties working through a textbook on analysis or vector calculus in preparation for your studies). And the preliminary course offers the first opportunity to make contact with your fellow students.
Period: 01.04.2025 - 11.04.2025
Lectures: daily 9:00 - 12:00.
Location: Lecture hall 46-280 (first week), 42-110 (second week).
OLAT course link: to be announced.
The access code will be sent to all registered participants by e-mail.
Prior registrationis absolutely necessary for the organization of the preliminary course!
You can do this here: Anmeldung zum Vorkurs.
The registration deadline is Thursday, 27.03.2025.
The access code will be sent to all registered participants by e-mail.

When will I receive the letter of admission?
Summer:
Admission letters are usually sent out from mid-February.
Winter:
Admission letters are processed as they are received. As a rule, letters of admission are sent out from mid-July.
Where are there timetables?
There are no timetables like at school. You put together your own timetable for each semester on the basis of the examination regulations, the study plans and the course catalog. You will be shown how to put together your timetable during the courses with the student council.
What is a study plan?
A study plan is a recommendation as to how an average student can distribute their workload (calculated in ECTS credits) of courses in such a way that it is (largely) possible to study without overlaps within the standard period of study. The study plan is by no means binding. Individual students can and will follow different courses.
Where can I find the course catalog?
The course catalog can be found on the websites of the RPTU and the department as KIS (communication and information system)
kis.uni-kl.de
Students then use the KIS-Office.
