Keynote speech of Professor Steininger on "Strategic Value-creation with AI in Healthcare Organizations" at the Shift Medical 2024

As part of Shift Medical 2024, Europe's most important medical XR congress, Professor Steininger gave a lecture on ‘Strategic Value-creation with AI in Healthcare Organisations’ on 19 September. The event, which has occupied a leading position in the medical XR community since 2019, brought together numerous stakeholders from healthcare, industry, science and government to discuss the latest developments in virtual reality, augmented reality and mixed reality.

In front of an international audience of healthcare experts and innovators, Professor Steininger emphasised the strategic potential of artificial intelligence in the healthcare sector. He presented practical research results and case studies that illustrated how AI can sustainably increase value creation in medical organisations. A particular focus was on the integration of AI into existing processes and the use of data for optimised patient care.

He emphasised the importance of a clearly defined AI strategy that is aligned with the objectives of the healthcare sector and presented two key approaches: the top-down approach, in which the implementation of AI is driven by the management level, and the bottom-up approach, which focuses on the gradual integration of AI into operational processes.

Shift Medical, which has over 3,500 members in its community worldwide, will remain a pioneering platform for knowledge exchange and cooperation between healthcare providers, companies, governments and the public in 2024. The next congress will take place in the picturesque city of Heidelberg and once again promises to bring forward-looking discussions and innovations in the field of Medical Extended Reality.
