As part of the bachelor-level course Strategy and Technology, students recently welcomed a distinguished guest speaker: Dr. Jonas Metzger, alumnus of the Chair of Strategy, Innovation and Cooperation and Head of Technology Transfer at SmartFactoryKL and Head of the Mittelstand-Digital Zentrum Kaiserslautern.

In his guest lecture, Dr. Metzger provided first-hand insights into the practical challenges and strategic relevance of technology transfer at the interface of academia, industry, and innovation ecosystems. Drawing on concrete examples from SmartFactoryKL, he illustrated how cutting-edge research is translated into scalable industrial applications and how strategic decision-making shapes successful innovation processes.

The lecture offered students valuable perspectives on the interplay between strategy, technological development, and organizational collaboration. In particular, Dr. Metzger highlighted the importance of interdisciplinary cooperation, agile experimentation, and long-term partnerships in driving sustainable technological innovation.
