Together with international colleagues, Prof. Gordon Müller-Seitz co-edited the special issue ‘The (Re)Design of Ecosystems to Face Grand Challenges—Toward the Management of Creative Evolution’ in Creativity and Innovation Management—focusing on how innovation ecosystems can be redesigned to effectively address major societal challenges: from generative roles that enable innovation in others (e.g. through Earth observation data, timber construction or energy solutions) to the principle of creative preservation (preserving and expanding values at the same time) to pragmatic design principles for management and politics that create and link multiple local design spaces, thereby promoting creative evolution—start small, scale up, involve new actors.
