Joshua Bißbort at the „2nd Junior Workshop on Energy and Climate Economics“
Joshua Bißbort took part in the “2nd Junior Workshop on Energy and Climate Economics”, which was organized by CESifo and the ifo Institute in Munich. The workshop brings together leading young scientists to present their research and promote international scientific exchange.
As part of the event, Joshua Bißbort presented his work entitled “Inform and Persuade: How to Give Advice to a (Slightly) Biased Agent”. In it, he examines how experts should optimally pass on information when it is known that the person addressed is biased.
A key finding of the work is that there are cases in which an expert suffers a disadvantage by sharing information. This result is remarkable, as it is usually assumed in the economic literature that more information is generally advantageous. The theoretical findings of the study provide new perspectives on how strategic communication should be designed in consulting and political decision-making.
