The aim of the course is to familiarize students with the basics of financial statements according to German GAAP and the determination of profits for tax purposes. The course builds on knowledge in the area of bookkeeping, which is taught as part of the module "BWL 1: Accounting and Finance" and is required knowledge for this course. In conjunction with the course "Cost Accounting" (Chair of Management Accounting and Management Control Systems), the course provides the basic knowledge required to understand accounting information and to be able to apply it to make informed decisions.
