Master Theses

1. Application and procedure

Prior/accompanying participation in the Master's seminar is strongly recommended if a Master's thesis is planned at the chair.
To apply, fill out the application form without a specific deadline (i.e. also possible during the lecture period of the semester) and send it by e-mail to accounting@wiwi.rptu.de. You will then receive feedback shortly.
Within the next two weeks there will be a meeting with the supervisor for accepted students, in which the basics of the thesis will be discussed and questions clarified. Further meetings will take place as required.
The processing time and submission deadline are determined by the examination regulations and registration date - as a rule, the processing time is at least 6 months, as experimental work is regularly required.
The final presentation, which serves as a colloquium, takes place shortly after submission.

2. general conditions

Theses at the chair are generally to be written in English.
Only experimental or questionnaire-based theses are regularly accepted - you will learn the necessary basics for this in the Master's seminar.
Theses in conjunction with practice partners are generally possible. However, this is associated with special challenges and must therefore be discussed with us individually before registering the Master's thesis. Please contact us if you are interested.
The scope is approx. 50 pages (+/- 10%).

3. submission

The following material must be submitted by each student by the end of the official processing period:

By e-mail: The thesis must be sent as PDF and DOC(X) to the supervisor. Also the raw data (incl. explanations of the variables) of the survey, if relevant.
Two hardcover / physical copies of the thesis must be handed in to the responsible examination office or sent by the deadline (please clarify details, especially regarding postal delivery, with the examination office).

4. templates

Word format templates, citation templates and further information for theses are provided via OLAT or by email.
