Offene Digitalisierungsallianz Pfalz

Project description

The Offene Digitalisierungsallianz Pfalz is a joint initiative of the University of Applied Sciences Kaiserslautern, the University of Kaiserslautern-Landau, as well as its direct partners, the Fraunhofer Institute for Industrial Mathematics (ITWM) and the Leibniz Institute for Composite Materials Kaiserslautern (IVW). The project strengthens the transfer of ideas, knowledge, and technology between industry and society, further developing the regional innovation system with a particular focus on digitalization. It is funded by the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research as part of the federal-state initiative "Innovative Hochschule".

The Open Digitalization Alliance Pfalz is structured into several subprojects, all of which are connected by the cross-cutting theme of digitalization and the impact of digital transformation. The overarching subproject Transfer Promotion is responsible for managing and coordinating transfer-related tasks. Additionally, four innovation areas focus on subject-specific knowledge transfer:

  • Work
  • Collaborative Digital Engineering
  • Sustainability & Resource Efficiency
  • Health

These innovation areas address regional needs in the Pfalz region and reflect the scientific expertise of the two universities. Furthermore, two additional subprojects, Creativity and Citizen Science, explore the use of specific transfer methods that are independent of a particular thematic focus.

The Chair of Business Administration, specifically Sustainability Management, is active in the Innovation Area "Sustainability & Resource Efficiency." This area supports regional stakeholders in their efforts toward sustainable and resource-efficient business practices and sustainable innovations through the use of digitalization and automation.
