Final theses

Topics

The topics for theses are generally based on the research approach of our chair and cover a broad spectrum of current problems in sustainability management. For Bachelor's theses, these topics are provided by us; for Master's theses, students should suggest their own topics, taking into account the research focus of the supervising staff. Specific Master's theses are also occasionally advertised.

Awarding

Participation in the Sustainability Research Seminar iscompulsory for all students (Bachelor's and Master's) who have their final theses supervised by us at the Chair or who are interested in doing so. All theses must also comply with the Chair's guidelines for writing scientific papers.

Bachelor's theses are assigned twice a year as part of the central assignment procedure of the Business Studies and Economics department. For optimal preparation, we recommend attending our Bachelor's seminar in advance.

Master's theses are awarded directly by the Chair of Sustainability Management. Applications are made via an application form in the OLAT course. The prerequisite for the assignment of a Master's thesis is successful participation in our Master's seminar. The topics for theses are generally based on the research topics of the supervising staff of our chair. Information on the research topics can be found on the corresponding pages of the staff members. On the other hand, it is also possible to suggest your own topics in consultation with us, as long as they can be assigned to the chair's research approach.

Further information on the Master's thesis process can be found in our guidelines.

If you have any questions regarding the assignment of theses, please contact the secretary's office.

Tips and tricks

All scientific papers written at our department must comply with the guidelines for the preparation of scientific papers of the chair. In this context, we ask you to urgently observe and comply with the guidelines on the responsible use of artificial intelligence (AI) in your studies.

For working with Word, we also provide a format template in .docx file format that corresponds to these specifications (without guarantee).

If you would like to work with the reference management program Citavi, there is also a style template for German and English papers that corresponds to this information (to download, right-click on Link > Save target as; style not guaranteed). Further information on Citavi can be found on the Citavi page of the RHRK.

Via DigiBib you can search the library catalog of the TU Kaiserslautern and large library catalogs and databases from all over the world at the same time. Books and articles from other libraries can usually be ordered via interlibrary loan (for a fee).

The University Library also offers you various options for accessing electronically available journals. Various links and an explanation of how you can access the TU network from home can be found on the relevant pages of the UB homepage.

For a targeted keyword search, we recommend the use of scientific databases. The easiest way to access these is via the University Library's database information system (DBIS).

For easier orientation, we have compiled an overview of sustainability-related journals in which you can search specifically for scientific literature. The list includes the most recent Jourqual rating and the impact factor (if available). We make no claim to the completeness or correctness of the information in this list. We also do not make any statement about the quality and citation ability of the articles published there. If you have any suggestions for improvement, please do not hesitate to contact us.

Note: If one of the downloads does not start when you click on the link, right-click on the link and select the option "Save target as..." and save the file in the desired location.
