Master
The specialisation in chemistry focuses on the transfer of chemical reactions or processes into economic and technical applications, particularly in the chemical and pharmaceutical industries, the energy sector, agriculture and the food industry. The knowledge required for this is acquired in lectures on thermal process engineering, process and plant engineering, bioprocess engineering and heterogeneous and homogeneous catalysis.
Our Master's programmes offer you the opportunity to customise your course of study. In such cases, a study plan that is too rigid could leave you less room for personal interests or additional research opportunities. Our range of modules in the Master's programme is so extensive and varied that an individual study plan can be created for each student. Plan your individual study plan over the next four semesters, including whether the selected courses can be taken without overlap.

The research project is a study-accompanying form of course that particularly enables independent and coordinated work on related topics or problem contexts according to the chosen degree programme in the field of economics, individually or as group work (usually up to a maximum of four students). A research project should not exceed the duration of two semesters. An interdisciplinary research project can be approved on application. The examination board decides on the approval and subject classification of the research project when the application is submitted. The examiner adds the topic of the research project and the date of issue to the application for the research project, signs it and forwards it to the Department of Examination Affairs without delay.
There are no other requirements in terms of content or form.
The research project has 9 CP (scope: 270 h) and can be included in the elective area of the Business Administration and Business Administration and Technology degree programmes.
The research project is compulsory for industrial engineering students and the following applies: the study/research project must be carried out in the respective other area (economic or technical), like the Bachelor's/Master's thesis. Exception: interdisciplinary work.
Registration for the semester-accompanying (combined) portfolio examinations is required at the beginning of the lecture period. There is a form for this purpose, which must be submitted to the module coordinator by the date set by him/her.
to the form:
Registration for the portfolio exam
Cancellation is possible without giving reasons up to the 7th day after the registration date with the module coordinator. After the 8th day, the registration will be reported to the responsible department for examination matters and recorded in QIS. Any work not completed after this date will be assessed as failed.
A business internship is required for the Master's degree programme in Business Administration.
Duration: 12 weeks
The internship must be business-related, otherwise the areas of work are arbitrary. The working week must comprise at least 20 hours. 40-hour weeks do not reduce the number of weeks!
The internship can be completed at different times and at different companies. Internship placements must be found independently. The internship is part of the degree programme and must be completed by the end of the programme.
The completed form must be submitted by e-mail to the academic advisor of the Dean's Office of the Faculty of Business and Economics: jblank(at)rptu.de or in Building 42, Room 122 or 126.
Registrations for Master's seminars, Master's theses, study and research projects are made directly with the teaching departments; for Master's theses, study and research projects, the corresponding registration forms must be submitted to the Department of Examination Affairs.
