Business administration
Bachelor
For students who wish to focus entirely on business and economics, the department's Bachelor's degree programme in Business Administration offers a comprehensive education that covers all areas of business administration and economics. Even without direct contact with technical content, students benefit from the interdisciplinary exchange with fellow students that only a technical university can offer. The Bachelor's degree programme in Business Administration enables students to independently identify economic problems, work out solutions on a scientific basis and develop alternative courses of action. The course offers an insight into business decisions at a strategic, organisational and analytical level. Students should be able to compare, evaluate and critically assess central economic models and theories. Furthermore, students should have acquired and be able to reproduce large amounts of theoretical and methodological knowledge, understand new scientific problems and tasks and be able to transfer the knowledge they have learnt to them. Students should also be able to apply the content they have learnt in lectures and exercises in practice and justify their own actions with theoretical and methodological knowledge, as well as having made decisions, set priorities and allocated tasks by preparing seminar papers and presenting the results together in the group. In doing so, each student should have taken responsibility for him/herself or his/her own task in the group. Furthermore, students should be able to develop their own solutions based on established theories and methods, recognise interdisciplinary problems and develop possible contributions of business administration to solving such problems. In addition, students should be able to reflect on the social background of business administration and explain its significance for the present.
